Brunswick, Ga. - Tickets for the 2020 Glynn County Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet are now on sale.

Tickets to this year’s Induction Banquet are $35 and can be purchased locally at the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce office downtown and also online through the Hall of Fame website.

Ticket sales begin Tuesday, Feb. 18, and will continue through Friday, March 6.

The Induction Banquet is set for Saturday, March 14, at the Jekyll Island Convention Center.

The dinner banquet and ceremony begins at 6:30. A social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cash bar available. A corporate reception for invited guests also starts at 5:30 p.m.

The 2020 Hall of Fame induction class features LaRon “Bud” Bennett (Glynn Academy and U.S. Track and Field standout), Gerald Cox (longtime basketball head coach at College of Coastal Georgia), Mark Drury (Glynn Academy and University of Georgia golfing great), Carroll Minick (Glynn Academy and University of Georgia baseball star), Harold “Red” Roberts (Glynn Academy and Austin Peay football legend) and Clyde Williams (Risley High basketball state champion player and coach).

The Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization that formed in 2011. It has previously inducted 35 members.

Also at the March banquet, the Hall of Fame plans to celebrate Risley High’s athletic history including the state championships won by the school during its existence.

“We’re preparing for what we think will be another great evening for our inductees, their families and friends and also our community,” said Kevin Price, Hall of Fame President. “The celebration we are planning for Risley and the school’s alumni and fans will kick off the championship celebrations we plan to have over the next several years for each local high school in a big way.

“We are fortunate to get generous support from our community to help us with the induction banquet. We hope the community will come out and enjoy the night as we honor our inductees and celebrate our Glynn County athletics history.”

Cash or checks will be accepted when purchasing tickets locally. Checks should be made payable to Glynn County Sports Hall of Fame. Please have correct change if paying cash. Debit or credit cards will not be accepted at the ticket outlet.

The online service will accept most major credit cards. The Hall of Fame has partnered with a reputable third-party service, Eventbrite, to provide a secured online option for ticket purchases. A small transaction fee has been added to the ticket price, but the process is made to be quick and easy for everyone.

When making an online purchase, you will receive a confirmation number and also a digital ticket. Please bring your ticket to the banquet, however, the Hall of Fame will also have a list of ticket buyers at the check-in table to confirm your purchase. Anyone wanting the official Induction Banquet ticket as a keep-sake item can request one at time of check-in.

All ticket sales are final.
