The Glynn County Sports Hall of Fame is proud to once again announce its Player of the Series from this past week’s Glynn Academy - Brunswick High baseball series.
Glynn Academy’s Paul Hegeman has been named for the honor.
In the decisive third game which Glynn won 9-2, Hegeman was the winning pitcher as he worked six innings and allowed just one earned run while striking out six. He retired 15 in a row at one point.
Also, Hegeman was 2-for-2 at the plate with a double and also a walk while driving in three runs.
Hegeman is the fourth straight GA player to win the honor. He also becomes the first two-time winner of the award and the first to win it in back-to-back years. He also won the award as a freshman.
He was presented the award Monday night prior to the Red Terrors’ game against Effingham at Wainwright Field by 2016 Hall of Fame inductee Murray Poole.
