The Glynn County Sports Hall of Fame honored the most outstanding players in the Brunswick-Glynn Academy basketball games played Friday night on the Brunswick campus.
Glynn Academy’s Zoesha Smith was named the Girls Player of the Game while Brunswick’s Jaden Dunham was named the Boys Player of the Game.
Smith, a senior, led a second-half comeback by the Lady Terrors as she finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 steals in the team’s 40-36 win over Brunswick. Smith was whistled for two quick personal fouls and missed considerable time in the first half while sitting out with the early foul trouble. The University of Georgia signee’s full talents were on display after halftime, however, as she led Glynn to the win.
Dunham also helped the Pirates come back from a 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter when he stepped up along with others to lead Brunswick to its come-from-behind victory. The 6-foot-7 senior post player finished with 24 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks to play a major role in the BHS 62-60 thrilling win over the Red Terrors.
“These were too really great games,” said Hall of Fame president Kevin Price, “and Smith and Dunham came up big for their teams when they needed them. They’ve had tremendous seasons and are to be congratulated for their great play once again in these big games played in the electric atmosphere that always makes the games between Glynn and Brunswick fun.”
